New year, new gear, the Orvis Battenkill IV. Well, I actually received a new switch rod set up on the last day of 2020…but I was totally expecting it to arrive a few days later.
The new disc reel from Orvis is an absolute stunner, and I cannot wait to get it out on the water. I plan to line it up with a skagit head, and bomb clouser minnows on the Mississippi River this winter for smallmouth bass, and maybe in the Spring or Fall I can take it up north for Lake Superior steelhead.
